How ArtSaqib works

In my exploration of ink and watercolor, I have been drawn to the complexities of urban life, particularly the fragile beauty of a city's architecture as it navigates instability. The title "My In-Visible City" speaks to the division or contrast between what we see and what we choose to overlook. My work captures the essence of this unseen struggle. Through delicate strokes of ink and the fluidity of watercolor, I depict the city's grand, historic structures gradually eclipsed by chaotic encroachments. Illegal parking, tangled webs of electricity wires, intrusive hoardings, banners, and the haphazard placement of corrugated metal sheets transform once-pristine landscapes into sites of conflict. These visual elements, though seemingly temporary, become permanent scars on the architectural heritage. The vibrancy of watercolor mirrors the city’s resilience, while the boldness of ink underscores the harsh permanence of these intrusions. I seek to provoke reflection on how the Lahore, once a symbol of strength, becomes increasingly "in-visible" under the weight of uncontrolled expansion and neglect. Through these compositions, I invite viewers to question what remains hidden beneath this surface, and what can be reclaimed before it is too late. In a sense, my work is both a documentation and a lament—a call to recognize and restore the lost beauty amidst the chaos of urban life.
