About Noman Khan

Noman is a visual artist from Quetta, Pakistan, whose practice explores identity, human vulnerability, and the hidden emotional landscapes that shape our lives. Motivated by a desire to contribute to the cultural and artistic discourse within Balochi society, he left law school to pursue fine art and later studied at the National College of Arts (NCA). Through painting, Noman examines the masks people wear to navigate social expectations, revealing the tensions between appearance and inner reality. His work invites viewers to engage with themes of empathy, connection, and shared humanity.
How Noman Khan works
I work across a range of mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, drawing, and experimental materials, selecting the medium that best serves the concept of each project. My process begins with research, observation, and sketching, followed by the gradual development of layered compositions that evolve through experimentation and reflection. The time required to complete a work varies depending on its scale and complexity, ranging from several days to a few weeks. For bespoke commissions, I begin with a conversation to understand the collector’s vision, preferences, and context, while ensuring the final piece remains connected to my artistic practice and visual language.
