About the piece

Inspired by the pristine landscape beyond Mahodand Lake, near Saifullah Lake in the Swat Valley, this painting explores the quiet poetry of one of Pakistan's most captivating mountain environments. A rustic wooden bridge, the tranquil waters of the lake, towering native trees, filtered sunlight, and a solitary boat together create a moment of stillness suspended in time. This is the second interpretation of the same scene. The first version was painted in watercolor on location, while this oil painting was later developed in my studio, allowing me to revisit the landscape through memory, emotion, and a deeper exploration of light and atmosphere. Rather than simply depicting a place, this work expresses my enduring fascination with nature's ability to evoke reflection and serenity.
