About the piece
Created during the Skardu Art Residency, this painting was inspired by a quiet landscape I encountered during my stay in Batakundi, Naran. The scene captures the understated beauty of a traditional mud house, a winding rural path, the first signs of autumn, and snow-capped mountains rising in the distance. Rather than simply depicting a place, this work reflects the gentle transition between seasons—a moment when summer gradually surrenders to autumn, and nature reveals its changing rhythms through light, color, and atmosphere. The simplicity of the local architecture and the surrounding landscape evoke a sense of belonging, resilience, and harmony with nature. Through this painting, I invite the viewer to experience the quiet poetry of the mountains, where every path tells a story and every season leaves its own lasting impression. Nouman Khan Nomi
